Paytm UPI QR on WhatsApp

How to share a Paytm QR code on WhatsApp

Two ways to send your Paytm UPI QR code in a WhatsApp chat: forward the image from the app, or create a clean payment card from your UPI ID.

Where is my UPI ID?

Open the payment app you use, tap your profile photo, and look for “UPI ID” or “Payment address.” It usually looks like name@bank.

We do not save your UPI details or QR code.

Test it before you display it

Scan this QR with another phone and make a ₹1 test payment. Check the recipient name and confirm the payment arrived before printing or sharing it widely.

Option 1: forward the QR image from the app

Paytm lets you save or share your own payment QR from inside the app. Open the app, go to the section showing your QR or payment address, and use its save or share action. You then attach that image in the WhatsApp chat like any other photo.

This works, but the saved image is usually sized for a screen, carries app branding, and often crops badly when WhatsApp compresses it. It is fine for one customer. It is a poor choice for a card you will send hundreds of times.

Option 2: build a clean payment card from your UPI ID

Your Paytm UPI ID is a normal UPI address. Enter it in the form on this page and you get a QR that any UPI app can pay, laid out as a card sized for a chat. Nothing about the payment changes. The money still lands in the same account.

  1. Find your UPI ID in the Paytm app under your profile or payment settings. It usually ends in @paytm or @ptaxis, @ptsbi, @ptyes, or @pthdfc depending on the bank behind your account.
  2. Enter your name and that UPI ID above.
  3. Add an amount only if every person you send this to should pay the same figure. Leave it blank otherwise.
  4. Select Create QR code, then Share on WhatsApp.

On phones that support it, the share action opens your WhatsApp share sheet with the card attached. On other devices the card downloads first and WhatsApp opens with a short message, so you attach the saved image in the chat.

Which one should you use

Forward the app image if you need it once and you already have it open. Build a card here if you send payment requests regularly, want the same layout every time, or want to add a payment note such as an invoice number.

Before you send it widely

Have someone scan the card and send ₹1. Check that the name their app shows before payment is your name, and that the money arrives. A wrong digit in a UPI ID produces a QR that looks perfectly normal and pays someone else.

If a customer sends you a QR instead, you can check who that QR pays before you transfer anything.
